How do you see us landing one of those guys, let alone both? With what assets? Every 1st until the end of time? |

It's not the Kesler contract but rather the more than 7 mil tied up in Bieksa and Stoner. Think about that.....2 at best bottom pairing dmen at over 7 mil between them. Add in the NMC Bieksa has and its affect it will have on who the Ducks can protect during expansion and it's pretty easy to see what contracts are killing the Ducks.......(psst it's not the Kesler contract) |

Must have only had east teams on that board. Shatty won't go anywhere else. |

What a pile of BS. Yes Anaheim has an internal cap over the last 2 seasons. Murray said his cap was going up this year in his season ending news conference & with almost 30 mil coming in expansion revenue very soon I think Murray will do as he pleases. Go review Anaheim's cap space on NHLnumbers.com since 2007. Anaheim has spent to the cap give or take a mil or 2 when required in many of those years. Several they didn't have to as key players were making peanuts.
Fowler isn't moving at any form of discount. What a pile of sensationalism garbage. |

Probably should also note that Jonathan Bernier has a cap hit of over 4 million, however, half of that was paid by Toronto on July 1. |

Thats just a gentlemens handshake to a future trade for one of your nice young defencemen. |

Yep. Darts on a dart board. They gotta get clicks and it's difficult this time of year, so they just connect the proverbial dots trying to predict the future. It's a major insult for the intelligent readers that support/follow him.

You can spin it any way you want. The Andersen trade was contingent upon Bernier being traded after July 1, when, per his existing contract, half his salary was to be paid.

Relax it was a compliment\joke towards some of your young defence. |

Ek, this makes no sense regarding Fowler. Murray obviously doesn't want salary coming back or why is Cam moving. I can't imagine Murray wants anything other than a 2nd and a young LW, and if they received either of those he'd be happy. The only thing that makes sense is Shattenkirk is hotter right now and everyone is waiting to see what St. Louis does. |

Well you said pretty much what I came here to say. The expansion revenue is going to create a nice windfall for all small market teams, as it will increase the total HRR for this season from what I understand. I expect the Ducks will be a cap team if need be this season knowing that extra cash is coming, if that is what it takes to get the swedes signed.
That doesn't mean we won't still deal one or two of Fowler/Despres/Stoner, but those deals are more due to the fact that we have too many good young defensemen and not enough good young forwards. Cap space is certainly a concern, as it is with all teams, but to think the Ducks are going to give Fowler away for low value to save a few bucks is silly.
To say that the NJD will be making a play for Fowler AND Shatty is beyond silly. |

they are 7 mil or so under
have to sign lindholm
not sure they have to do anything - homiedclown
We are 7.5 mil under and Thompson is bound for LTIR for most of the season. That gives us close to 9 million in cap space. Most Ducks fans are expecting a two year bridge for Rakell between 2.5 to 3.5 per season. Murray is probably trying to bridge Lindholm also which is why those contracts are taking so long. If he can get Lindholm on a bridge deal we are fine with cap space. If Lindholm wants a long term deal it may be upwards of 5.5 mil per season. I don't see him getting more than that though.
That puts us either just under or just over the cap depending on what Lindholm gets. There's no reason to move Fowler out of desperation if that is the case. Stoner or Despres would get moved with something to sweeten the deal way before Fowler is dumped for cap relief. |

He might not resign with an East team but he has no choice where he may get traded to now. It's that lack of a NMC thing. |
